Expressive Paintings from the Gulf Coast to the Alps
I spent years painting the beaches of Florida's Emerald Coast: the waterbirds, the endless light on the Gulf. Then in 2023 Austria became our home, and now the mountains and Innsbruck's Old Town streets outside my window are showing up in my work. Different landscape, same hope: that my paintings leave you a little happier and a little calmer. If something speaks to you, I'd love for it to find a place on your wall.

Exploring the Zirbenweg: Translating High-Altitude Air to Canvas
Translating the scale and quiet atmosphere of the high mountain trails near Innsbruck onto canvas requires a shift in palette and brushwork. In this upcoming studio entry, I share my process of taking photos and sketches from local alpine hikes and building layered impasto textures back at the easel.
Meet Roy Calvin Eure
I'm Roy, an American painter born in Mississippi and now living in Innsbruck, Austria, with my spouse and our two spaniels. I studied art and interior design, and spent twenty years designing rooms and operating two design firms before I picked up a brush full time. These days I paint in acrylic with loose brushwork and thick, sculptural impasto, and I never stop learning from the places I've called home.
