While bicycling down Scenic Hwy 30A recently, I passed one of the large decorative towers along the road at the spectacular Alys Beach community. Sitting high upon the decorative spherical finial/pinnacle of the tower was a little mockingbird singing at full volume. Fiercely protective of his pair's nest, he was making it known that the monumental structure belonged to no one else.
