Required for Interior Design practice and designation in Florida, as well as a majority of other states, I have successfully achieved
NCIDQ (National Council for Interior Design Qualification) certification. Prior to my study of Interior Design, I received a Bachelor of
Fine Arts degree in Sculpture, with an emphasis in Studio Furniture Design, from Memphis College of Art in 1998.
Roy Calvin Eure Interior Design opened for business in August of 2005 in Historic Downtown Hattiesburg, MS. Prior to opening my first
independent practice, I had the privilege of working for several well known Memphis design firms, including William R. Eubanks Interior Design.
Beyond holding two degrees in art and design, I have worked in design related occupations for most of my life. During my childhood, I would
regularly entertain myself by rearranging our family's furniture at home. The design of an interior environment is rewarding for me due to the
multifaceted challenge of each new project. It is a composition in three dimensions, like sculpture really, yet with a myriad and unique set of
functional requirements which must be considered for the space to be successful. It is my mission to create aesthetically pleasing interiors
but also a successfull living environment with consideration to your lifestyle, general health, physical needs and functional needs of your office
and your family's home.
We relocated to Florida because of familial obligations. I embraced the beloved area of my lifetime of vacation memories as my new home.
Furthermore, I appreciate the opportunity of a smaller and more personal Interior Design practice. Charmed by the natural and man-made
beauty of our area, I draw design cues from the coastal dunes, the inland pine forests and from the creative brilliance of the architecturally rich
communities in which we live and play.
An enthusiast of the Craftsman and American Arts and Crafts periods, I enthusiastically made our home in the spectacularly beautiful Wild
Heron community which borders Lake Powell, Florida's largest rare salt dune lake, in Western Bay County. Continually wishing to improve the
lives of my neighbors and my community, I have served upon multiple committees and boards in areas such as historic neighborhoods,
municipal architectural conservation committees, a regional professional organization and a university arts board. Currently, I am proud to
serve upon the Board of Directors of the Wild Heron neighborhood Association along with chairing it's Architectural Review Board.
Interior Designers should humbly appreciate the privilege and opportunity to serve the client, his employer, and hopefully, his friend. Thank you
for your consideration and I look forward to serving your design needs.
